United People's Party, Liberal
The United People's Party Liberal traces its roots to the Peoples Coordination for Democratic Rights (PCDR), formed on 5 August 2015 to represent Bodo and other communities of the Bodoland Territorial Region as an alternative to the dominant Bodoland People's Front. It was rebranded as the UPPL and, under Pramod Boro, won a majority in the 2020 Bodoland Territorial Council election, ending the BPF's two-decade hold on the council. The party has been a constituent of the NDA/North East Democratic Alliance since 2020.
