Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular)
The Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) was founded on 8 May 2015 by Jitan Ram Manjhi, a Dalit leader who had briefly served as Chief Minister of Bihar (2014-15) after being appointed by Nitish Kumar, before being removed following a political falling-out that led to his split from the Janata Dal (United). The party has since shifted alliances multiple times between the NDA and the opposition Mahagathbandhan/UPA in Bihar, most recently aligning with the BJP-led NDA from 2023 onward. Manjhi's son, Santosh Kumar Suman, currently serves as party president and as a minister in the Bihar state government.
