Assam Jatiya Parishad
The Assam Jatiya Parishad was launched in September 2020 as a merger of two prominent Assamese nationalist student organisations, the All Assam Students Union (AASU) and the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP), which had jointly led the mass protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 in Assam. Lurinjyoti Gogoi, a former AASU general secretary, became its president. The party contested the 2024 Lok Sabha election as part of an anti-BJP alliance alongside the Congress-led INDIA bloc in several Assam seats.
